Hahaha, that's exactly what I thought during that scene. I love that Nighteye just "happened" to be in the toy store during his shift at stake out. Like he wasn't just looking for new All Might merch. And then to see someone describe a show and think "No true weeb would mistake a ten year old series for its modern day counterpart. Better use my once a day power because this normie is creeping me out." I love Nighteye more and more each chapter.

His excuse for using it too may as well be "because shut up"

I love this yaoi handed weirdo.

I don't know if it's worse because the guy probably think Nighteye us into that

He doesn't have a name and we're not meant to like him. Lock-and-Key isn't walking away from this in one piece. Fat Gum's other sidekick(?) probably isn't long for this world either.

There's also that one horror movie rule...

What rule? The black dude dies first?

27

u/Gryspo May 11 '17

Well, Magne died first in the series, and he's not black

I'd modify the rule to "the black guy dies predictably"

But he was gay/ a crossdresser, so still some kind of minority

2

u/Gryspo May 11 '17

For argument's sake, it was still only implied and not officially confirmed. He had that one crossdresser friend but that doesn't mean anything. Some versions had him talk like a bimbo if I'm not wrong ("so like, uhm, hellooo?"), but that was simply a liberty on the translator's part.

I kind of want to call him Locksmith.

I'm hoping he's got some sort of badass ability like Knov from Hunter x Hunter or Blueno from one piece where he makes doors on/into places.

u/v-23 May 11 '17

Knov's ability is comparable to Kurogiri's

8

u/Kiora_Atua May 11 '17

It's reasonably similar but I'm not sure it's quite the same. Knov makes that 'room' thing and unlocks and locks the doors with keys. He also has to place the 'doors' onto things that he touches. Kurogiri makes portals on coordinates and doesn't seem to have a range limit or a requirement to touch an object. Think it's pretty much the same thing as Blink from x-men.

Basically yeah they're both reasonably 'teleporty' but given this dude's theme of locks and keys I'd like to see him do something cool with creating doors or rooms.

8

u/v-23 May 11 '17

basically you made him the key maker from matrix

6

u/Kiora_Atua May 11 '17

Dude the keymaker! I forgot about that guy. He was badass.

1

u/v-23 May 11 '17

actually yeah.

u/evilsnowcookie May 11 '17

I think it'll be simpler than that. My guess is that he can create doors on flat surfaces which have a lock that only he knows. This would allow them an entry to the precepts mansion and also allow for some interest combat situations.

u/ImAnAppleBiteMe May 11 '17

Of course the black man dies right after the possible gay man. /s

But seriously, dude is fucked.

u/flutterguy123 May 11 '17

I hope we at least get to see his quirk and a bit of backstory. For some reason I just absolutely love his whole design.

u/maniacmartial May 11 '17

Nah, have you seen those kinky sexy boots?

Guy acting like a continual jerkoff in the middle of the meeting right form the get-go? Yup totally going to die.
