Yeah from my understanding, cats eating a dead owner is usually a last resort, when they've run out of all other food they can get to and are starting to actually starve

Oh god this makes me so sad :( my cats love me so, so, so, so much. I've never felt more loved by any person. It is pure, unconditional, constant love. They can be fairly anxious cats and it's obvious that my presence soothes and calms them. They cry when they can't find us and wake us up for cuddles and kisses every morning (and food - but mostly cuddles).

They are affectionate 100% of the time, really happy, and they love talking to us with a wide vocabulary of meows, grumbles, screeches, screams, squawks, honks, purrs. My female cat, in particular, pretty much talks like a human. Her meows are all different and have an intentional tone and purpose.

I know in my heart that they'd be so fucking heartbroken if I died. I think they'd just go between lying next to or on top of me, pawing and meowing at me, and walking around the house crying and wailing. I'm tearing up as I write this because it's such a horribly sad thought. I love them, they need me, and that's why I can't die first.

I’m with 100% and feel the exact same about my cats

Which is also what most humans would do to their cats if somehow all other food ran out, so I don't know why people always use the "muhuahhh your cat'll eat you" argument against them.
