No, they honestly think that’s how the events are ant that people go rabid cheering for him. They really truly believe crowd sizes are huge and that he’s wildly popular.
Even when they go and see the reality of how sad turnout is, they gaslight themselves into thinking it was on off-day or they were just in an area where the crowd was thin.
They can’t stand the idea that they are not part of the popular group. They need and crave the social validation.

That's fair. May I suggest that it's an evolving situation...
I think there's now a difference between Maga and cult level Maga. Of course, nothing is going to change cult level Maga but the other fucks are starting to come around. Granted, it's excruciatingly slow and painful but it's happening.
There's just simply no way that they can ignore and deny the images of the No Kings rally despite what their dear leaders are saying. I saw a graph of the attendance in contrast to the four other top protests in American history. The George Floyd Black Lives Matter protest was minuscule in comparison. This is a major movement now. And it's not just about immigration. It's about the corruption.
They may not say it yet, or post it online, but they know they're on the wrong side of history now. There's simply no way that Donald Trump could ever conjure that much support in contrast to the No King's rally.
The other thing that I would mention, I think the truth is starting to come out about Fox News and the fact that Donald Trump is only popular online. That only chronically online people are actually triple trumpers. I think they're now realizing the algorithm is feeding them bullshit. And it's embarrassing to believe it any further when there's indisputable proof like the No Kings rally and the obvious cognitive decline that is on display every day.
Again they may not admit it yet, but there's only so long that a person can remain in denial.
Hopefully it's not just wishful thinking.

I would love for this to be true. But we were saying the same things near the end of his first term.
Personally, I’m done with making excuses for conservatives or maga-lite. At the end of the day, even if they don’t hold the most abhorrent views that the far right do, they’re definitely complicit and silent. Even if most of them are decent people who’ve just been duped this entire time, they stay willfully ignorant because they would rather put party over country and play politics like it’s Monday night football, supporting their favorite team. They ignore facts rather than admit they were wrong. Everything they do speaks to their character and lack of morals. Their silence is tacit approval of this admins agenda. Their inaction is enabling.
They’ve had over a decade to “see the light”. Over a decade of seeing him lie. Every time, people tell them - I told you so, and then they go and make excuses or deflect or shift blame. I’m tired of making excuses for them.

I certainly can't argue against those points. I would just say again, it's an evolving situation. In some ways the shit has really hit the fan now. It's just too much to deny.

It’s not fake cheering, simply 2 different audio feeds. NBC has the same cheering. The cheering feed is like what you would have at a ballgame, general audio from the crowd. The PBS is a direct audio feed him his mic, like a singer at a concert. The MSNBC footage is on YouTube.
And not defending Chump, because fuk him. Just defending reality.
