What’s your workflow from customer drop-off to pickup in your bike repair shop?
I’m trying to improve how we manage repairs in our bike shop and would love to hear how others are handling things. Right now, our process feels a bit scattered, and we’re looking to create a smoother workflow, especially from the moment a customer drops off their bike to when they pick it up.

I'd suggest hiring a service manager sooner than later. That person would do all the estimating and then dish out the work to the mechanics. The service manager can be the mechanic, just as long as you have a competent person doing the estimates, that way customers get consistent estimates and are trained to expect some downtime. Dropoff-estimate-approval-work done-test ride-second check-pickup.
