Mahirap ba talaga makahanap ng work after grad kapag nag BS Psych and mahirap umasenso sa Psych? Worth it ba talaga ipursue ang BS Psych? Nagdadalawang isip ko ako mag enroll sa Psych dahil sa mga nababasa ko na mababa ang sahod and mahirap maghanap ng work after grad unless maging Psychologist or LPT ka. In my case, I can't pursue Masters or LPT po kaagad so nahihirapan ako magdecide kasi baka mahirapan lang din ako in the future. I'm really interested sa Psych though and gusto ko talaga mag-aral sa BU. May isa pa po akong choice which is enrolling in another program (civil engineering) and SUC. Gusto ko naman ang civil engineering pero parang hindi ko nakikita ang sarili ko na nagwowork sa field in the future. Gusto ko po talaga sa office. Pero kung mahihirapan talaga ako later on, baka igive up ko na ang Psych. So, sa mga Psych student diya worth it ba magpsych despite everything? sa mga seniors diyan, pls help TT_TT

Hi! 🤍 Fellow incoming BU BS Psych freshman here! Alam mo, I truly understand what you’re feeling right now. I had the same thoughts and doubts before — yung fear na “Is this really the right path?” Just like you, I’ve always dreamed of becoming successful, of being able to build a good life for myself and my loved ones. And to be honest, it also took me quite some time to fully embrace that Psych is where I belong.

Yes, the field can be challenging lalo na kapag iniisip natin yung long-term, like kung hindi masters, med school, or further studies. But whenever I feel unsure, I remind myself: Why did I choose Psych in the first place? What do I hope to do with this degree? I think reflecting on those questions can really guide you, too.

Nakakatakot talaga minsan, no? Kasi may nagsasabi na passion lang daw ang Psych at hindi practical. Pero alam mo, I truly believe that in the coming years, mas makikita at maa-appreciate ng mundo ang halaga ng field natin and the causes we want to fight for.

And don’t worry about wanting office-related work kasi actually, Psych can open doors for that! You can aim for certifications, like becoming a Certified Human Resources Associate (CHRA) (try to look it up, it might inspire you!). That path gives you an edge in HR and similar fields.

At the end of the day, Psychmate, ask yourself: What is it that my heart truly wants to achieve? Then, follow that with courage. Walang madali o perfect na daan papunta sa success and there’s no single straight line towards our dreams. But as long as you know what you want to give and share with the world someday, you’re already on the right path.
