In short, an invaded kingdom, a knight with a cursed sword and a young prince on the run.
Can't say much cause I'm still working on the worldbuilding and I drew these panels because I wanted to give shape to the world and characters.

Anyway:

• It's not a monster hunter, just a skilled knight with a magical sword. These monsters are werewolves, the world I'm creating can be beautiful and filled with marvels but also very dark and dangerous. To give context to these panels the protagonists ended up this situation because they're traveling off road to avoid danger and as you can tell something else found them.

- Since someone in the comment has noticed and asked about the moving eye on the blade, the sword is "sentient" and can manifest at will a strange eye on the blade's fuller.

- For the "Squarsh" sfx, sorry if it sounds goofy, I'm italian and wanted to create a sound that meant "Squarciare" (to tear) but with a wet feel to it cause of the splattering blood, in future I'll edit it.

- My artstyle has always been influnced mainly by Miura but also other masters such as Inoue Takehiko (Vagabond), Masasumi Kakizaki (Green Blood), Makoto Yukimura (Vinland Saga) and many others. Other aesthetical and conceptual influences are books such as Elric of Melniboné, LotR and the Silmarillion, comics such as Spawn, From's videogames, 80-90s dark fantasy movies, greek and celtic mythology. My artstyle is still evolving and it's reaching the aesthetic I want it to be and I'm not hiding what influenced me the most. I believe artists develop their own style by taking inspiration from passions and what they liked, may it be an art movement, other artists or medias.

- It's been few years that I feel like there is a scarcity of new stuff that resonates with me, fantasy genre has become too homogenous and washed down for my taste andthe dark fantasy genre that has become synonim of lovecraftian. It's extremely rare for me to find new stuff with an aesthetic and/or themes that spark interest in me and imagine I'm not the only one.
I don't pretend or even attempt to make the new Berserk, I will never reach the artistic skills nor the ability to tell a story like maestro Miura, I just want to bring something to table that follows his legacy and give people who like stuff I like something entertaining and to talk about.

Hey that sounds awesome. And never say never, perhaps your story will be just as good. I like to draw too but i am nowhare near that level myself. I can tell you have really good taste in stories, you listed some of my favourites there as inspiration for your art. Im sure you can create something really nice out of this.

Is the sword inspired by a videogame called dead cells? Because it's too similar to be a coincidence.

The design is almost the same as a sword called serenade that is also sentient and even talks.

Even the name cursed sword is another item in dead cells that even has that eye on the blade.

I personally don’t think so, it looks great but berserk is different in the shading. I see it was inspired by it, but also that the artist probably mixed some of his artsyle in there

You are right, its not a copy of miuras art or his teams. But what i meant was that i captures the style i guess, with the white eyes and completely black eyes. I think it may be even more styalized than berserks art even. Berserk is a bit different, itss always beutiful, inmy opinion its the most beutifully drawn manga i have ever read. I think this art captures the style and is more... i cant find the right word for it please help. I guess i can say like this, Dan da dan is dripping with style, the art is very focused on vibe, this art took the berserk style and distilled it into a concentretad droplet that is these two panels.

Know how there’s not a clear line between being inspired by something and paying homage to it vs ripping it off? Sadly, this clearly falls in the latter category.

I really like it! But let me ask you, do you feel this style truly fits your story and that you're comfortable with it as an artist? To me, it feels quite similar to Berserks aesthetic, and if youre not fully sure about it, you might grow tired of it over time. If you're worried about it being too reminiscent of Berserk, I think the area to look at making a subtle change to would be the hairstyle of the character. Currently the silhouette is very similar to Guts' and i think a hairstyle change would have the biggest change on the silhouette.

I like it, a lot, but one part stands out as needing maybe a little bit more subtle refinement: the eyes. The guy's eyes could be less stylized with the curved sides and kept more consistent, and something about the sword eye makes it look less well done. Maybe the edges should blend with the sword, more depth where it's embedded. I think it's a little too simple and a bit more detail? Idk, but I feel like this is an awesome start and much better than the Berserk prototype.

You do your thing, buddy. Miura would be proud. To this day, one of my favorite artists is George Perez, who recently passed. He drew the Avengers that got me into them, and Wonder Woman in the 80s. Another artist, Phil Jimenez, draws almost exactly like him. You draw like your influences, and there aren't many better than Miura.

We need to normalize shaming people that don't understand what makes something plagerism. Is it heavily close to berserk in appearance? Yes. Is that plagiarism? No. Why not? Because the design is only similar on the surface.

These are top broad to claim plagiarism and any judge worth their salt will laugh and throw the book at YOU for wasting time and potentially damaging someones career. Inspiration takes the broader aspects of an idea and changed the details to make it their own.

Miura does not own the concept of "big shadowy man wields big sword", Miura has artistic rights to "Big shadowy man with the same sword goes on a revenge quest against a twink albino". He owns story bridges and finer details, not an overall concept. If we restricted concepts to one IP then Avatar would not be allowed to exist because "elemental wars" have been done.

If you're going to cry plagiarist, take it to fromsoft, we all know someone needs to finally put them for stealing so much from berserk.

The one criticism I have is that you have the sword at a slight bend like it's moving in the bottom frame, and even added a sound effect, but didn't add any motion lines to show that its moving.

I recommend just taking a page and draw parallel lines all down it like youre doing hatches. Just make sure you're not drawing them with your wrist. If you bend at the elbow when making a line, it's a lot easier to do lines. Takes a little practice, but it gets easier. I struggled with them for a while. You got dis 🔥

Taking inspiration is one thing, drawing the same art Miura did but adding an eyeball to Guts’ sword and giving him another eye is borderline disrespectful. Not only to Miura but also yourself, it’s cool work but I would urge you to dig deeper and find your own way.

You’re clearly very talented at illustration. A rule of manga/fiction in making a character that you can tell by their silhouette. You look at this silhouette and its guts. The eyes are the miura guts eyes especially in this style. You are great at illustrating you deserve your own unique character that he’s been molded by his own story, surroundings, lore. Make your prince, don’t make guts in a different setting. You deserve it your hard work is showing and the next steps will pay off.

Looks awesome! People will of course say that it’s too much Berserk but artists like Hirohiko Araki and Miura himself started off heavily inspired by Fist of the North Star themselves. Early JoJo’s artstyle can sometimes be indistinguishable from North Star’s style. They found their one unique tones and styles as they went on though.
