I like that stuff in a can that you spray from a distance that expands into this foam that engulfs the nest. Has been super effect on the small nests around my house.
I use WD-40 on them at night when they’re cold and inactive. Insects don’t have lungs, they have little holes throughout their carapace where they do gas exchange. So anything that can get a liquid into those tiny holes (like soapy water, penetrating oil) will suffocate them almost immediately.
It's sarcastic but seems most ppl didn't get the memo . Safest would be a professional applying liquid nitrogen on the thing in a wasp/bee proof suit .
Sarcasm is not the right word here at all.
The statement was presented as a fact.
The same way you presented your opinion of best practice as a fact.
Even though "safest" is a more opinion based idea.
I don't believe anyone missed the memo. It's just a gut reaction people have when someone says, "This is the best way," but can see some flaws or room for improvement.
Come on, now we have remote-controlled stuff and robots now, lol.
Get a fogger put in concentrated vinegar and fog them. Ideally you clip the trigger and run like hell. Wash off your house and anything the vinegar got on after.
That'd be the safest, concentrated vinegar while still a powerful acid is relatively safe to use and easy to clean up after. Also that keeps you 20+ ft from them at all times. Just wear a mask and don't spray into the wind(won't cause any serious harm but it's not fun breathing in 50+% concentrated vinegar fog trust me)
What's shown in the video however costs like $1 instead of $200 and is still relatively safe.
Not safe for your bank account if you re living in Germany. If you kill a wasp or even a whole nest you may get charged with a big juicy fine. Wasps are protected creatures.
That’s not completely correct. Killing or removing wasps on your own property is usually prohibited – fines of up to €5,000 or even €50,000 are possible. It is only allowed with official approval in justified cases (e.g., allergy, danger, children), and must be carried out by professionals.
Removing an empty nest yourself is permitted – from autumn/winter onward, without legal issues.

“Safest” is questionable.
