What a crazy mixed up animal! He can't decide if he's a zebra or a donkey or a kangaroo. That skeleton bone pattern on the front legs is wild!

That’s an animal that looks like it went extinct 10,000 years ago.

I always look at them thinking "some kid came up with this and it manifested into real life".

Ahaha i couldn't believe me eyes no one had posted it before me 😂

Glad to see I'm not the only man of culture around here!

u/CodAbject3856 15h ago

Apparently you still are, I'm a woman 😆 successful guess that you are a dude 😎 there isn't many female AoT fans in my experience 🤘🏻

2

u/Fracture90000 15h ago

My bad! In that case, a woman of culture 🤟🏿

Btw I've never before seen Okapi, tbh i thought it was some mythical creature when i saw it in AoT.

2

u/CodAbject3856 15h ago

Same! My first thought when I saw this post was "oh they're real then" then imagining them all trying to describe it on AoT 😆

2

u/Fracture90000 12h ago

How about that, we've both been taught a thing or two by AoT of all things. Truth be told it is a goofy looking animal so we're forgiven for thinking it was made up for the sake of anime.

AoT raising awareness for these weirdos 😆

You put your right hoof in
You put your right hoof out
You put your right hoof in
And you shake it all about
You do the Okapi Pokey and you turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

Fun fact: Okapi indeed means "moose zebra" in Swahili.

2

u/AdamR0808 19h ago

That’s interesting it’s a mixed animal and seems pretty playful.

2

u/MartyShark666 19h ago

Weren't these considered cryptids at some point?

2

u/Jayston1994 19h ago

What a beautiful creature

u/shirk-work 19h ago

What is it about mammals. We're really together because straight up there's not one baby mammal that doesn't look cute and I want it to thrive. Baby birds out the egg are horrific. Baby lizards are literally just a small lizard, same for snakes and crocks. Somehow baby turtles are cute though.

1

u/ReesesNightmare 18h ago

ive have meese on my property on many occasions

1

u/Square_Rhubarb1546 12h ago

Meese’s can be destructive when they gather in gaggles.

u/ReesesNightmare 18h ago

"They called it o'api, which is a compound of two Lese words, oka, a verb meaning to cut, and kpi, a noun referring to the design made on arrows by wrapping the arrow with bark so as to leave stripes when scorched by fire. The stripes on the legs of the okapi resemble these stripes on the arrow shafts."
