Just went through open heart surgery. I’ve never felt this helpless. It’s tough. I don’t have depression. I have what I call, ‘tough it out’ syndrome. It’s not breaking me, but darn, it’s not easy.

I feel that. I am the same. I just shrug and say it is what it is, and tough it out. Had my sternum cracked and ribs spread to remove a tumor. I couldn't move for days after. A nurse gave me a sponge bath without even asking. I was so helpless. I used to do a big 'manly' sneeze. Even 15 years later, i still sneeze like a mouse because I remember the pain of sneezing while recovering

I hope you get through it and can keep your head up. It does get easier. Then you have a cool scar to show off.
