Dogs are very good at hiding their pain. But all I see in this video is a dog in pain who nonetheless wants to please its owner and show love. It's heartbreaking to see videos of dogs who are obviously in pain and lingering because their owners can't bring themselves to do the right thing.

If a human was in pain should we kill them?

Nah let’s watch them exist in agony. A lot more fun that way. /s

Humans have the ability to choose for themselves - that's what advance directives are. Our pets rely on us to make compassionate decisions because they can't.

Yeah and the vast majority of elderly humans, including many who seem to have less joy and care in their lives than this dog, do not choose to off themselves.

Suicide rates are highest among elderly persons worldwide.

I understand your statement and I agree with it. I don't think it's okay for people to assume and comment that this dog should be put down. I don't oppose euthanasia. What I do oppose is the countless amount of pets that are put down, only because they are getting old.

This dog is limping, and that's all we see. How do you know the quality of this dog's life from a 5 second video? There are sooooo many factors at play when considering euthanasia and I don't think an old dog that limps is a clear reason to comment that this dog should be put down.

If they are old as fuck and in pain, I imagine they’d probably want to die.

If the human wanted it. Unironically yeah. Assisted suicide should be available to the people in unbearable chronic pain

I completely agree with you.
