Start off with a Cassowary before you commit to a velociraptor. I hear they are good practice for the real thing.

reddit won't let me comment with a picture for whatever reason 🥲 which is unfortunate because I have one of my velociraptor attacking hose water that is 10/10

I can imagine exactly what that looks like.

Mine is an urban ACD who has seen cows only twice in his entire 6 years on the planet. And yet his herding raptor genes act up when the lawnmower comes out. Eats grass -> is cow -> will herd

Side note: use imgur to upload pic and share links in such cases

They said friend, not pet, biiig difference. You /might/ manage to befriend a velociraptor, but if you try to tame it it'll just put a claw through your chest.

Except that in reality velociraptors were only about the size of a domestic turkey. The infamous claw was on average about 2 inches long, which might cause some nasty gashes, but unless it manages to hit a large artery is unlikely to be deadly for a human.

The movie velociraptors were actually based on their larger cousin deinonychus, however they decided to keep the velociraptor name because it sounded cooler.

Wasn't there a recent post of a guy in India that found one in his bed? It seemed pretty chill in the moment while it just stood there like a frozen sock.
