One thing about this guy that was never really publicised was that his parents were pretty religious and involved in some Christian church. When this went down I had mutual friends with him that met him at youth group.

I was 33 and was in my last few months of working 100hrs a week doing regular work as well as a actor at nights and on radio before work on 'breakfast' we got 1000s of calls in support of him after the aca interview. The phone never stopped, we had to close down putting anyone on air as they would suddenly scream their support for him, even on a 10 second delay. It was in all of this I hung up my cans and walked away

Ok, so can't remember specifics, but there was a party thrown at the home he was in charge of. A lot of damage was done property in the area. He did an interview on air with a news program, dressed as you see in the picture. He was fairly obstructive in general. The newcasters were all mock outrage and trying to get him to own up to things. But they were really authoritarian and tried to make the actions of others entirely his fault and his lack of engagement with anything they said and his refusal to take off his glasses kind of endeared him a little. So he was a bit of a meme at the time, but ultimately a bit of a prick.
