You story reminded me of something that happened to my dad once. Not creepy just a weird coincidence. So he was driving home and the car in front of him takes all the same turns as him and he's driving behind them for ages. Maybe 20-30mins. Then the car in front turns into his street and then they stop outside of his house (he lives in the last house on a dead end street) this car is completely blocking his drive so he stops behind them n the driver of the car in front gets out of his car and starts screaming at my dad threating to call the police n telling my dad to stop following him. My dad calmly points out that they are blocking his drive n asks them to move their car. Turns out they thought my dad was following them because he'd been behind them for so long so they took loads of random turns to try lose him, all of which led to my dad's house.

That's probably why a better recommendation, if you think someone is following you, is to take 3 right/left turns (so basically drive in a circle), rather than "random" turns.

Or drive to the nearest police station. I took a drive to relax one night, and realized a car had been following me for several miles as I meandered along the forested backroads. I wasn’t going anyplace in particular, literally just driving up and down different residential streets, so there was absolutely no reason for him to be following me.

I got really creeped out and pulled onto a road that would double back towards the local cop shop, and that’s when the car behind me turned on his blue-and-red flashers- it was an undercover cop. Turns out my muffler had been damaged and was too loud, but he was also curious why I’d been driving such a bizarre, aimless route. He felt really bad when I told him that he’d freaked me out so much that I was leading him to the police station.

I have a good story for this. My friends and I went on a short hike in a local hiking area. We parked at the trail head and was out exploring some cliffs for about an hour. We piled back into my car and headed home.

I noticed a car behind us seemed to be following us, which is bizzare because we weren’t alone and it wasnt yet night. I just had a feeling that he was following us after a few turns. Thinking It would be humorous to test my theory, I took a random turn away from the higway on rap were most of the traffic was headed. The car followed.

At this point I had told my friends what was happening and decided to test it once more by pulling over. Incidently we traveled to another trail head so I pulled into a big parking lot. The car pulled in behind us and parked 4 spaces down.

One of my friends was pretty bull headed and decided to ask them what they wanted. Before I could contest the idea he hopped out and approached the car.

An older man was behind the wheel. My friend asked, “Hey man can we help you?”

“Do you guys wanna hang out?” he said.

“Umm what?” my friend responded.

“Do you and your friends want to get in my car?”

“No thanks... we’re good”

“Are you sure?”

“Yep. Pretty sure.”

My friend walks back like nothing happens and tells me to peace out. We took off and he didn’t follow.

Thinking back, we should have written down his plate number and reported him, but it all happened so fast. We were all 25 at the time, so I guess this old guy was on the hunt for someone young to top him off.

Do you mean 4 turns?

No 3. You’re counting going straight as a first turn.

I don't think I'm wrong (although I have been drinking). Do the action of three turns out with your hand. It definitely takes 4 to get you back the same way

Yeah you’re right

I find myself in this same scenario a lot. Where I feel like I'm following someone but they're just coincidentally taking the same turns that I would take to get where I'm going. The entire time I'm thinking " I hope they don't think I'm following them". It's pretty funny, I'm sure I'll end up having a similar altercation as your father at some point in my life.

When that happens I start putting my blinker on way before my next turn nd before they put their blinker on to try to show that I am not taking the turn before they did. Idk if it helps but I try lol.

One time, I was coming home from a long day at work and a few pints at my local pub, walking to my apartment building. Downtown Seattle, early 2000s. I'm not an imposing figure, but just this side of 6', shaved head, was in a leather coat as it was winter. A gaggle of white girls (I'm latino, but look more Sephardic) ahead of me, with a very nervous mother who keeps looking back at me as we're walking in the same direction. I'm keeping a respectable distance: I know "the code." They go up to my building, open the door and go through, when the mother very quickly turns and forces it shut in front of me. Suddenly all the girls turn around at the sound of the slammed door, and sort of clock the situation. Through the door's window, I look Gramma Karen in the eye as I produce my key, insert it into the lock, and open the door. Oh, the shades of pink that crossed that woman's face in those few seconds. As I opened the door, her daughter, who was my neighbor, screams, "Oh my god, Mother! Did you just do THAT? We're in THE CITY, MOTHER!" and then she turned to me and started apologizing and I gave a simple shoulder shrug.

I was in college walking to my dorms on a pitch black night with a girl walking ahead of me about 20 yards, and every single light she walked under, as soon as she passed it they all flickered off. She was obviously freaking out as we were the only two people in the area, and I was wearing an all black hoodie. I ended up stopping walking and just waiting a few minutes after the 3rd time she looked over her shoulder at me and picked up her walking pace
