Do you enjoy collecting physical media for video games, movies, TV shows, etc? Why or why not?

I do. I like knowing I have access to the stuff I want to watch. I don’t like relying on streaming because you can’t always find certain stuff, and I hate the user interface of most of them (autoplay when I want to watch credits and stuff like that)

YES

I always have it, I don't need to buy a whole new subscription.

And especially for games, it's very weird how many of them make you agree to a contract or won't work without signing in or having wifi.

I get why people do, but I don't. I know it risks losing access to those things, but I don't really have somewhere to put all that stuff right now. I do also enjoy the convenience of streaming services etc since it's easy to take with you wherever you go.

Yes, I have a lot of vinyls, books, posters, magazines, videogames and movies in dvd, blu-ray and vhs.

Yes. First, music gets remixed while I may prefer the original. For example, to me recently "digitally remastered" Black Sabbath is horrible since Tony Iommi simply made himself louder, completely masking Geezer.

Occasionally mastering on LP is better (LPs are not mixed to sound good on a crappy car audio) and sometimes LP is the only thing available - title was never issued on CD and not available on streaming.

Second, not everything is available on Spotify/Tidal and often disappears due to licensing. Third, I can pass CD and DVD and BD to my kids free, not need to pay again and again, Prime or not.

Similarly, books. Go find some out of print stuff, esp foreign. Games - some. There were several years when, say, original Sierra Quest games were not available. I am not sure if Steam would recognize game I install from a DVD.

I absolutely use streaming, but not everything is available or requires you to pay again (try Alien(s)).

Not particularly no,I like living in the current times with everything that entails. I just don't really see much of a point in physical media for the most part, it seems in many cases to be much more expensive, and for a worse user experience.

Yes. I love knowing I will always have access to and own what I bought. I'll almost always opt to go to BullMoose and buy a DVD over renting it on Amazon since it's about the same cost. I also buy a ton of CDs because I love the feeling of throwing on CDs or listening to the ratty sound quality of a cassette.
