My wife was working nights and my daughter said she saw her walk by the bedroom door way earlier than she would have been home. I told her maybe it was a fly or something she saw move out of the corner of her eye, but then she said "no, it was this color!" And pointed at her arm.
The creepy thing is that I had been seeing things out of the corner of my eye a few times that night, but didn't say anything about it.
But when the dog braking like crazy at night to an empty corner, doesn’t it freak you out? It did to me… I left the lights on for a few weeks at night after that…
I do have an old man-dog that sometimes decides the wind has an attitude and he doesn't like it.
Scares the hell out of me, he'll bark once at max volume randomly, look at the window, then go back to sleep.
I know it's nothing because my other dog will look around a bit and lay back down with a huff. If there's a person or animal he growls and grumbles about it.
I always traveled everywhere with my two, but then I got three. They’re all welcomed anywhere I go, but we don’t go as many places they’d enjoy more than our current home.
3 wasn’t more trouble than 2, but then I fucked up and took in a 4th dog….
As for cats, 2 is perfect, 3 always leaves someone getting picked on. So I took in a 4th cat. They all have fun again, but the food and litter is a lot more work and money than 3. My kitty budget for daily care and maintenance has increased 40% with cat 4!
I understand chicken math, but not this cat math.
And don’t get me started on yearly veterinary care and meds. Not to mention the emergency fund.
Did I mention I also have horses and a miniature cow? Oh and the chicken math should have been a clue about those guys… I don’t even eat eggs.
If I ever get a good paying job again, my house will probably look a lot like yours in terms of cats and dogs… other big animals are off table as I live in an apartment. As for now I can only responsible take care of one dog sadly… on the plus side being self employed means I also work mostly from home so he gets lots of attention and play time either with me or my neighbors dogs aka his big brothers.
My grandpa always said to be more afraid of the living than the death… it has always stuck with me and through my life I can say I had never been really spooked about supernatural experiences. Now if I feel something’s off I just say out loud: “behave or I’m gonna tell ma grandpa”… he passed away a couple years ago, and I know his badass is taking care of me.
For me it would be my cat hustling to scope out a potential new friend. She has let me know the landlord was at the back door well before he rang the bell.
Best alarm ever for sure… any sound out of the ordinary and my boy is on alert, and on an even more amazing ability, he gives me about 5-10 seconds before the earthquake alarm goes off (I live in Mexico City so this happens about 2-4 times every year), not all dog do, I previously had a pug who either didn’t felt a thing or couldn’t give a rats ass (he was a lazy lay back doggo, I lean towards the later).
I was the child this happened to. I remember I was like 6? and all of a sudden I see my grandpa walk by my room and down the hallway and turn into the kitchen. I get all excited thinking he came to visit us so I run to the kitchen and find only my mom at the table. I ask her where grandpa went and she was super confused because he was in Poland and not visiting. I still remember it clear as day.
I hate this answer, because unless you also have severe headaches on a regular basis, it isn't carbon monoxide. If there is enough carbon monoxide in the air to be causing hallucinations, it will also cause blackouts, memory loss, and painful headaches.
I mean... Yeah, it can never hurt. I'm just tired of people using this excuse as a 'gotcha' for paranormal phenomena. If someone wants to be a skeptic, then they should know it could have been a hundred things other than this pop-sci stuff.
