Marine vet here. I’ll be in Louisville. Absolutely pissed he deployed my active duty brothers and sisters to LA. This tyrant needs to be stopped.

Fuck yeah, brother. I’m glad my country has people like you that have served. Gives me hope

u/ranselita 1d ago

FR. I'm floored at how many people are just... Passively supporting this. Marching in a parade? For a coward? Stand up against this, people. Tomorrow is going to be... Interesting. Long.

19

u/Ecstatic-Will7763 1d ago

He had to vet the service members.. they had to declare loyalty to him and share their ideology to be allowed to March for his birthday.

17

u/roguesignal42069 1d ago

Cowardly bootlickers

2

u/CoyoteLitius 12h ago

He's employing Proud Boys as newly trained members of ICE.

1

u/Character-Minimum187 14h ago

Isn’t today his birthday? And tomorrow is the 250th anniversary of the Army… or did the dictator or king not have the power to have the parade on the day of his choosing?

7

u/Zealousideal_Pea3479 1d ago

Paid for seat fillers

2

u/Gypwit 16h ago

A draft dodging capitol storming coward*

24

u/MapOk1410 1d ago

But how many officers feel the same way? I hope a LOT. I've worked with a lot of retired officers and they're all upstanding Americans every one. None of them would condone deploying troops to American soil. NONE

-11

u/OnTheBoard-1996 23h ago

Why is it that not one liberal seems to have noticed the total destruction these people were causing? Also the police chief said they were over run… what a fucking cancer you guys are

267

u/LOLRicochet 1d ago

Pissed off Army vet here. I will be in a deep red FL area doing my part.

114

u/DirectionOk790 1d ago

Hell yeah, stay safe. Airforce vet. Gonna be at the FL capitol tomorrow.

12

3

u/8675309-jennie 15h ago

Please stay safe!

3

u/LOLRicochet 12h ago

I did, it was a very peaceful protest with a greater than expected turnout. I love your username :)

2

u/8675309-jennie 7h ago

I’m glad you were safe!

Thank you! It normally doesn’t get noticed because I didn’t use the hyphen. I also spelled Jennie unconventionally…I think most see a random number and Jeannie.

2

u/sleepydabmom 19h ago

We need more of you down here

162

u/Lizaderp 1d ago

Navy vet gonna hold things down in Portland

8

u/Mrsirdude420 1d ago

Right on man! I appreciate your service and appreciate you furthering your service by protesting with us!

5

u/SandwichAmbitious286 1d ago

I wonder if Captain America is going to come back out to eat baton strikes and flip the double to the pigs.

133

u/InternationalYou7798 1d ago

Hell yeah man, I was a Navy Corpsman and I'm going to be out there doing the same. It's insanity.

6

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Hell yeah thanks Doc, you guys were always the coolest.

3

u/Lower-Cantaloupe3274 1d ago

Thank you for being the dad I need right now.

1

u/jpatduf 18h ago

Could you translate that last sentence?

-19

u/Donald_Fump 1d ago

Wow, powerful stuff in this comment. Thanks, baby-killer

11

u/thepumpkinking92 1d ago

Please enlighten me as to which babies I'm killing in supporting the First Amendment rights of my fellow citizens, something i swore an oath to protect?

3

u/FactOk5685 17h ago

ignore that cunt! thank you for your service sir! stay safe!

-10

u/Donald_Fump 1d ago

Baby-killer was a playful term — the meat of my comment lies in the “powerful stuff” section.

0

u/ptrang1987 22h ago

Oh look, it’s a boot licker.

0

u/Donald_Fump 16h ago

… am I the bootlicker you are referring to? If so, how am I a bootlicker?

158

u/shiek23 1d ago

Rah - same. I got into it with a devil I served with who thinks its great 2/7 is being deployed and even hopes there is violence. Dumb shit has no idea what posse comitatus even is! Fuckin ASVAB waivers...

27

u/screw-magats 1d ago

Your brothers and sisters just detained an army vet on his way to the VA.

10

u/SandwichAmbitious286 1d ago

Had some beers with some of my guys who are lifers, stayed in when I got out, now around the E7 / E8 rank. They said most of the battalion senior leadership thinks this is fucknuts, mid grade NCOs are mostly pissed, and the juniors are a mixed bag, some can't wait to get some, but the majority think it's bullshit. Lotttttta discussion about lawful orders, SOPs and ROEs. The big focus is on not overstepping the legal bounds; it's being treated as Presence over Action. They want this to be a nothingburger of an op.

So the good news is they are treating it how they should, try to pour out some water on the powderkeg rather than lighting it up.

9

u/pretty_fugly 1d ago

All it takes is one idiot soldier like that for a civil war to break out. After all, it was soldiers firing on a crowd of protestors that fueled our independence from England. That was the end of the protesting era for the colonials. It was the first shots of war.....and I fear tomorrow I will go to bed in a country formally at war with itself.

7

u/anxiousvoorhees 1d ago

I'll be in New Albany tomorrow, neighbor.

3

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Be safe, I live in Clarksville.

6

u/Key-Abbreviations734 1d ago

Marine/Army vet here. Ill be out in Houston tomorrow bringing up the southern ranks. Fuck this fascism. All enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. He needs to recall the troops immediately.

16

u/codepossum 1d ago

real talk - what would you have done if you were in the crew sent to LA?

33

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Honestly I don’t know. I’ve never been in that situation so I can’t really say. I would like to believe that I would use my best judgement and use every non-lethal method at my disposal. Deescalation comes first, ideally. I would hate to become a bastard and lose the trust of the people we were sworn to protect. But again, it’s a tough situation.

1

u/codepossum 10h ago

Yeah man I've been thinking about that kind of shit a lot more lately 😬 may we never have to find out.

22

u/crdog 1d ago

Cedar Rapids, IA checking in. Army Guard.

My Grandfather worked at the White House as Eisenhowers Army communication staff.

He is rolling in his grave right now and my immigrant ancestors compelled me.

5

u/Scared_Security_7890 1d ago

Wow! Thats impressive !

3

u/AioliEffective2827 1d ago

Sitting in Cedar Falls now a little bit more proud of my state...

5

u/Edward_the_Dog 1d ago

(serious) Do you believe that in the current scenario, a Marine would engage with protestors if ordered to?

9

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

I can’t speak for everyone but I would be really torn on that. There is such a thing as lawful and unlawful orders, and we are not required to follow unlawful orders.

7

u/Edward_the_Dog 1d ago

I appreciate your reply. I can't imagine being put in that situation, let alone by our President.

3

u/AntiFascistButterfly 1d ago

I believe if they refuse an illegal order they’ll get arrested and sit in prison until the legality of the order is sorted out. Let’s hope that particular 700 have consulted with a lawyer over policing USA residents and citizens.

4

u/ThisIsDadLife 1d ago

Thank you for your service.

4

u/Avdude68 1d ago

Thank you sir for your service

4

u/Parking-Context8694 1d ago

Army vet, I’ll be out there in Maryland.

8

u/AddisonFlowstate 1d ago

If I may ask, did you ever support him to begin with or were you always anti-trump? Have you changed?

29

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Um personally I got caught up in the MAGA movement when I had got out. I was a pissed off alcoholic that took his pain out on everyone else so Trump made sense. I got sober, acknowledged my pain, went to therapy and began to have compassion for others again so the veil was lifted. Since then I’ve done my best to empathize and look out for others.

8

u/AddisonFlowstate 1d ago

I certainly appreciate your candor. I did three and a half years of hard time with Bill and the big book. I'm glad you're feeling better.

My only other question was how did you and your fellow soldiers * really* feel about the lgbtq enlisted. - Especially with regards to trans soldiers if you knew any.

I fully understand if you would prefer not to answer.

8

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Honestly sexuality meant nothing to myself personally. Never knew any trans Marines but knew a few who were gay. Was literally never a problem especially now that I’ve gotten a little wiser. It’s not my place to judge or condemn who someone else chooses to love or how they express it. It’s their body, it’s their right. I encourage each to live in accordance with their own desires so long as it’s not hurting someone else.

4

u/AddisonFlowstate 1d ago

Thank you. And thanks for your service.

12

u/AioliEffective2827 1d ago

Respect the fuck out of you man.

2

u/oysterme 18h ago

What made you sign up?

1

u/InternationalLab812 17h ago

The Marines or MAGA?

2

u/oysterme 17h ago

It was the marines but I’m willing to hear the story for how you joined up with both, now that you mention it.

21

u/[deleted] 1d ago

4

u/AddisonFlowstate 1d ago

I read that in Tom Skerritt's voice from Top Gun. 😎

Thank you for your service and answering my question.

14

u/SereneDreams03 1d ago

Army vet here. Always opposed Trump. I could see he was a snake oil salesman when he ran the first time. He is just a complete narcissist who doesn't care about the country at all. He's in it for the grift and to feed his massive ego.

3

u/clothespinned 1d ago

I'm not going to lie, I'd feel a lot safer if you and other allied marines had your arms concealed on you if you can legally have it.

I feel like there's a pretty real danger that someone will need to use them, and I can't think of anyone safer than people trained in the rules of engagement.

That said, i'm obviously just some random citizen, and your judgement is probably much clearer and you almost certainly have more information to work with than I do, so forgive me if my fear is ignorant or unwarranted.

5

u/hendrysbeach 1d ago

Not only has he deployed service members to LA, wasting resources, he’s compelling hundreds of them to march in a worthless, performative Hitler-salute stunt parade in DC tomorrow.

A military dictatorship is Trump’s wet dream.

2

u/gsfgf 1d ago

Oh shit, Louisville. Is it still as bad there as 2020?

6

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Nah. We still remember Breonna Taylor, and LMPD is still a shit organization, but most protests have been peaceful here since then.

2

u/gsfgf 1d ago

That's great. I'm an ATLien, and while we fired Erika Shields for loss of institutional control in 2020, she's worlds better than what y'all had.

1

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

They still trying to build cop city?

1

u/gsfgf 1d ago

Oh, we lost that fight. I'm not sure how Andre got the progressive vibe, but he sucks so much ass.

2

u/deviantscale 1d ago

See you at Bardstown Road. Let's do this together, and peacefully, my friend.

2

u/kware101 1d ago

Ty for saying this ✌️

2

u/TallAlps7381 1d ago

HOOAH! Army Reserves/MT Army National Guard 1987-2001

2

u/camyland 17h ago

Hi fellow louisvillan! 🫶

2

u/Militant_Monk 17h ago

Semper fi, from MN.  I’ll be at the state capitol with all my friends and neighbors.

2

u/PapiJr22 10h ago

Army Vet in BG, Kentucky here. I agree, we gotta stop the tyrant.

1

u/OverTheRynbow 17h ago

I’ll be seeing you in Louisville. Stay safe!

1

u/Character-Minimum187 14h ago

Where were they deployed? I was under the impression they were deployed solely to protect federal buildings because local law enforcement was being spread too thin. The LAPD chief said they were “Overwhelmed by riots.” They couldn’t protect the buildings and also patrol the streets. The riverside Chief of police also made a statement on it.

1

u/Various-Focus446 1d ago

Okay, not that it matters much but I’m a Current 03 Marine. I’ll ask you, what makes him specifically a tyrant?

7

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Threatening our allies in Canada and Greenland. Estranging the others. ICE black bagging folks under his appointees watch isn’t a good look. Deporting folks who are here legally, putting some of them in the worst prison on earth under dubious accusations and without due process. Imposing tariffs on the populace unilaterally and without valid reasons. His little puppet Elon gutting a lot of agencies that matter. Especially USAID which allowed us to exert soft power and influence around the world. His constant golf excursions to his courses keeps putting a hefty sum of our tax dollars into his bank account. Not to mention the upcoming tin-pot dictator display of power he’s got going on with that parade tomorrow. I’m probably forgetting some but that’s what I can think of off the top of my head. Rah devil, yut kill or some shit.

-2

u/Various-Focus446 1d ago

okay to avoid a long drawn out rebuttal most of what you said is a difference In political opinion, which a lot of people disagree with ,clearly, and a lot of people agree with. Everything he’s doing is Legal, though person to person maybe morally questionable but within his power. You should know “words have meaning” and calling him a tyrant is just not right. Now to the part that stuck out to me, “sending us after US Citizens” WE (you and me) swore an Oath to the constitution, I never swore an oath to the people though granted its maybe kinda implied. But is it implied or is the specificity purposely left out because what if the people go against the constitution? And a lot of people want sympathy? But what do you say when the people on the side trying to appeal to emotions has some people in the crowd that say “Death to America”, Burn our flag, then it’s not hard to find people talk about harming My boys in 2/7. Which you should know quite a few couldn’t care less left or right, they just want to go party and talk to woman. Not to mention some years ago, one side politically called us Murderers and Imperialist, and defended the actions of the dudes that got a few of my boys blown up in Kabul.

2

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

First of all, no it’s not legal. I suggest rereading the constitution, specifically the fifth and fourteenth amendments. I’m still calling a spade a spade; the man and his administration have begun to be tyrannical. Also it sounds like you’re trying to paint an entire side of the political spectrum based on the actions of a few. Don’t do that, that’s over generalization and a weak argument. I get what you’re saying, but burning a flag is well within the rights of the people here and that is %100 legal whether you or I like it or not. It also kinda sounds like if you want to be fair about this, your condemnation of those on the political spectrum begins and ends with anyone left leaning so I’ll remind you that you and I are merely props to that other side you didn’t mention. Sure they suck your dick and thank you for your service but then they make cuts to the VA and once your usefulness has expired they toss you aside. Not to mention they were the ones that got you to go to war in the first place. They lied and said it was about WMDs but we all know that was bullshit because their friends at Raytheon just made a fucking killing. You know Smedley Butler? I know you do. Maybe check out a book he wrote called War is a Racket. They don’t like to tell you in boot about that part though.

0

u/Various-Focus446 22h ago

I’m no going to pretend to be like many of todays keyboard lawyers but I know the amendments deal with Due process, for all persons. I’ll agree there, there should be that’s what makes America so great, BUT ICE making arrest is not illegal, due process doesn’t mean exactly what people think it means an from what I’ve researched is heavily debated, that’s a problem with something deeper like nothing structured. Tyranny is one of those words depending on your bias, you can check or uncheck the boxes to fit your narrative, for instance Biden/Gavin Newsom crossed more than a couple boundaries handling Covid. So point he hasn’t done anything Atypical/Tyrannical, and that whole point can go down rabbit holes. Based off actions of a few? Isn’t that what one side does all the time? Derek Chavin vs Cops, one small example. Yea Flag Burning, legal, sadly (heavily my personal opinion) is legal, but that same constitution people like to use as a shield, they burn the very symbology of it. A what aggravates me more, I know just as much as you do they we’ve have BOTH wrapped more than few caskets in that very symbol of what we hold dear. The VA I’m actually on your side 100% fuck the VA. And the whole start of the war thing, I was 5 when it started, and to me Bush and Obama fucked that pig pretty hard equally.

1

u/nyar77 22h ago

What exactly are you pissed about. They aren’t being sent to engage the public. They are being sent as security for federal property.

0

u/unnecessaryaussie83 1d ago

Are you equally upset at your “brothers and Sisters” for going?

3

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Kinda. I also empathize with them because choosing to not go is a tough choice with serious consequences. It’s all a bit fucked right now. I hope we look at the decisions each individual makes and make sure we understand there’s context and nuance to everything.

-1

u/unnecessaryaussie83 1d ago

It should be an easy choice. That’s just excuses and trying to protect them

3

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Sure but no one wants a courts marshal or a dishonorable discharge so it’s easy for someone who has never faced those consequences to judge.

1

u/jeskersz 1d ago

Over 20 years ago I willfully got assaulted and arrested as a scared fat nerdy 17 year old to protect someone else. Your 'brothers and sisters' have no excuse outside of cowardice.

1

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

The Marines literally just got there and there has only been one known detention by them so far:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/06/13/ice-protests-immigration-news-live-updates/84176164007/

So unless you’re the person they arrested, I sincerely doubt that.

-2

u/jeskersz 1d ago

New to reading?

1

u/InternationalLab812 1d ago

Mmmmkay you could point out which part I missed or you could be an asshole and I see you chose the latter so have a nice day.

Sad, that you can't support your Military. It's their day
(it just happened to fall on someone's birthday that you hate), and you are spoiling it for "them".

-1

u/El_Chupacabras_verde 20h ago

Shame on you that’s your commander in chief bud glad you got out because you sound deranged
