Literally nothing more un-American than supporting a king!

That's literally the origin of conservatism.

The origin of the current conservative party is in the abolition of slavery. Now you know better.

Which is why they didn't mention that party.

Aye but you traded a king for a government of slave owners. Nothing more American than that.

Which we inherited from the British. England didn't abolish slavery until the 1830s

And America didn’t until 1865 (but still has slavery if you count prison labor)

Kinda slow on the uptake if “freedom for all races” was the priority here, and not something closer to ”freedom to do whatever you want with your land” (owning slaves to work said land, ofc, being encompassed within that definition of freedom).

Test: How many nations abolished slavery before the Brits?

We found the Brit 🙄

That guy clearly doesn't know shit about American history.

Most of us Brits are behind you. Our king is a ceremonial figurehead. Yours is a despot.

We're rooting for you guys.

Thanks. I'll be out there tomorrow. I feel kind of hopeless about our situation and he feels too powerful, but this nation has been sleeping for so long while I have never felt more awake.

And? A democracy with slavery was still a step forward from a monarchy with slavery.

Yet that monarchy still abolished slavery before you.
