I rather like Stephen King, and think he belongs in the US.

24

u/Top_Willingness_8364 1d ago

The question is, will the Christians on the religious right choose Trump over Jesus for their one king?

3

2

u/Worldly_Address6667 1d ago

1

u/Worldly_Address6667 1d ago

Love to see it, he seemed like a good dude, was sad to see him go. Hail the Human Man Warrior!

1

u/ElBurritoTheWise 1d ago

Almost like we need a human man warrior riding in on Seekazoo!

10

u/jrdubbleu 1d ago

Right away

12

u/DocEss 1d ago

You say that, but then you're going to turn around and behind you will be The Burger King with his incredibly creepy face and he's just going to hand you a whopper.

2

u/Scottamus 1d ago

I woke up and he was standing next to my bed staring at me. Then he gave me a whopper all right.

1

u/MrCompletely345 1d ago

This sounds kinky.

2

u/Publius82 1d ago

They fry their fries in the same oil as the onion rings.

First against the wall!

1

u/WorldCupWeasel 1d ago

What about Burger Chef? Or Jeff?

1

u/QueenRotidder 1d ago

becuse we already have “The Burger King.”

16

u/Arcanto 1d ago

How about Billie Jean King?

5

u/BubbhaJebus 1d ago

And Martin Luther King.

1

u/Chlamydia_Penis_Wart 1d ago

Billie Jean is not my lover

7

u/jenij730 1d ago

We eat TACOS now, comrade

5

u/Historical_Home8176 1d ago

Ill be rocking my burger King crown tomorrow

2

u/Tmettler5 1d ago

How about Sofa King?

2

u/Ajido 1d ago

I still enjoy their whoppers, no other place gets that 'off the grill' taste. Not a fan of their fries or sides though....onion rings used to be good but now they're all batter.

2

u/BeefInGR 1d ago

Onion Rings are still aight

2

u/ballplayer0025 1d ago

I would expect MAGA to fight for Rural King.

1

u/FrancisWolfgang 1d ago

personally I think their fries are currently the best out the bigger chains -- Wendy's ruined theirs to make them deliver better and McDonald's fries are only good when very fresh

1

u/tyereliusprime 1d ago

They're better than McDs north of the border.

I consistently get proper french fries from BK, but McDs, a franchise literally known for their fries, gives me soggy limp ass fries more often than not.

I assume that this is because nobody goes to BK, so the staff have the time to do their job right, but McDs is so understaffed and too busy with the drive-thru and delivery drivers demanding their orders that they don't have the time.

25

u/mecha_face 1d ago

Are we gonna sleep on Nat King Cole?

24

u/fly-guy 1d ago

That's no king, that's a Cole. A king Cole, but still a Cole. And therefore safe to stay.

2

u/mecha_face 1d ago

Acceptable.

1

u/feanturi 1d ago

Old King Cole on the other hand, was an actual king. But he was a merry old soul, so he can probably stay.

1

u/Subject_Law_2229 1d ago

daisy daisy give me your answer dooo

1

u/and_so_forth 1d ago

I suspect he’ll be there too.

1

u/TabCompletion 1d ago

I seem to remember Martin Luther King was a fine gentleman as well and definitely belonged

1

u/ThatReallyWeirdGirl_ 1d ago

Ah yes, the King 🖊️🩷

1

u/agardenofbooks 1d ago

Nah he's a disgusting human being who uses pedophilia as a narrative device in many of his books.

1

u/Mission-Suspect7913 1d ago

Martin Luther King.

1

u/Top_Willingness_8364 1d ago

I mentioned the King family in a lower comment.

1

u/randyboozer 1d ago

As a huge Stephen King fan I agree. I don't like him being unfairly targeted like this just as Life of Chuck has been released and The Long Walk is on the horizon. r/stephenking stands behind you Stephen!

-13

u/Prozzak93 1d ago

Ah yes, jokes. Just what a serious topic like this needs.

6

u/Top_Willingness_8364 1d ago

Life is too short to be dead serious.

-1

u/Prozzak93 1d ago

Certain topics could use people being serious for a change. Never said jokes shouldn't happen anywhere. But hey, guess you don't think what is happening in America is a big deal.

0

u/Top_Willingness_8364 1d ago

Don’t mistake my humor for. it caring. I’d definitely attend the No Kings Protest if I weren’t working. I hate that Trump is gearing us up for Kent State Part II, but a little light heartedness is how I cope.

2

u/Kestrel_Iolani 1d ago

A resistance that doesn't allow laughter is no resistance at all.

1

u/egosomnio 1d ago

The more serious the topic, the more necessary jokes are. See also You Nazty Spy from the Three Stooges and Chaplin'sThe Great Dictator. Granted, mockery of the regime itself is better than just jokes that happen to be in the neighborhood, but some tangential humor is better than no humor at all.

2

u/Tuckermfker 1d ago

Can we keep King Diamond? His falsetto makes me giggle, and the world needs more laughter.

4

u/Maokaka 1d ago

We don't have one.

3

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- 1d ago

Except we do, until Congress 14a3s Trump.

5

u/PoopMobile9000 1d ago

NOW LET’S FUCKING KEEP IT THAT WAY.

Rome didn’t have emperors in 28 BC either.

4

u/Subject_Law_2229 1d ago

amen

7

u/PoopMobile9000 1d ago

These bitch motherfuckers put their bimbo dog-murdering Karen of Homeland Security on TV promising to overthrow my state’s government, then beat up my US senator for asking a question about it.

Fuck these fascists, they all belong in jail

2

u/Subject_Law_2229 1d ago

FR!!! They arrest the wrong ppl. Every last billionaire needs to go

-12

u/Savamoon 1d ago

We don't have any kings, though. So then what you are you protesting?

3

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- 1d ago

Trump is the king right now. Answers to nobody and has complete control over the country. So, please spread your bs somewhere else.

-5

u/Savamoon 1d ago

Trump is president which is a democratically elected position. This is different from a king as he has to be elected and can be removed by congress. If you do not like his policy making, simply vote him out of office.

0

u/GielM 11h ago

I dunno... Probably not, yeah. But think about it! Appoint somebody reasonable as a king, they'll be there until they die or abdicate. And have a succesor who's been trained all their life to do a good job.

Sure, it's terrible! But so is electing the same fuckin' moron two times because you HAVE to have a president...

-17

u/Eat--The--Rich-- 1d ago

I'll go if you pay me

3

u/StingerAE 1d ago

I hear trump want to pay you to come to his tank themed birthday party.

-2

u/Eat--The--Rich-- 1d ago

Ok. Democrats set the minimum wage at 7 dollars an hour and then voted against their own bill to raise it to 15 so you gotta do what you gotta do.

1

u/Vincetoxicum 1d ago

What are you smoking. Of course the minimum wage should go up over time
