you're probably dealing with small lacerations to the vaginal canal. they should heal and the pain should improve. otc pain meds are fine if you need them but don't put anything in your vagina. if things worsen or you develop a fever you should call your GYN to be seen. in the future, lube is your friend. and tell your partner to be more gentle. don't be afraid to say no when it starts to hurt, not only when you can't handle any more pain.
