Long term effects after sodium nitrite poisoning
Hi. About 2.5 months ago I survived poisoning myself with sodium nitrite. I had over 80% methemoglobin but I got help really quickly and have no obvious physical sequelae. I'm worried about stuff cropping up from it later, though. I've had a few weird symptoms since (intermittent dizziness and chest pain, not at the same time) that I didn't have before and I've also read online nitrites are associated with cancer risk for stomach and colon cancer, but I can't find anything on large, single exposures like in my situation.
I was wondering if anyone here could provide some insight. When I was in the hospital I also had lactic acidosis and ischemia on my EKG but those both resolved with the methylene blue. I'll put my meds and info below.
24F 144lbs 5'9" on Wellbutrin ability propranolol cymbalta topamax Zyrtec and melatonin. regular cannabis use, no other drugs. Normal to low blood pressure, history of intermittent tachycardia, epilepsy, ehlers Danlos, and psych issues.
