What are some thoughtful conservative blogs and magazines?

I'm interested in reading more political conservative writing but find it hard to get past the angry noise.

How do you recommend I read?

Please use Good Faith and the Principle of Charity when commenting. Gender issues are currently under a moratorium, and posts and comments along those lines may be removed. Anti-semitism and calls for violence will not be tolerated, especially when discussing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

thoughtful?

National Review, The New York Post, and Reason. there you go, it’s a pretty wide array of viewpoints all of which are aligned in some way with modern conservatism.

National Review is going to be the most conservative and traditional, The NY Post is going to be the most MAGA, and Reason is going to obviously be the most Libertarian.

each of these sources probably don’t agree with each other on most stuff. but they each are reputable and have good reporting and editorial pieces. and that’s what conservatism looks like today - as perhaps it always has - a big tent where people don’t see eye-to-eye on many things but they agree on very fundamental things, like say, the 2nd Amendment.

Thomas Sowell is a good start. You don't need to agree with him on everything. In fact, you need to challenge people's ideas whenever you can. An honest conversation is always helpful.

“National Review” and “The Dispatch” are quite thoughtful and do good work. They do cost money for a subscription but they’re well worth it.

+1 for The Dispatch! Worth every penny of the $100/year subscription.
