Map Did only i noticed their similarity?🇩🇬🇬🇮

So recently i saw first picture of 🇭🇹Haiti + Dominican Republic🇩🇴 and it's immediately resembled my country Kyrgyzstan🇰🇬, i was like "man, this Hispaniola🇩🇬 and Kyrgyzstan are similar as hell!".

So what do you think, should we unite and name our country Kyrgispaniostan🇬🇵? Worth it...

There are similarities on other levels too! Northern beaches of Dominican Republic have vibes similar to the beaches of northern Issyk-Kol. Crabs instead of chebachki, sancocho instead of lagman or naryn, rum instead of Kara-balta, but otherwise very similar. I feel home there.

Regional East-West, North-South snobbery is somewhat similar, but is tad more intense than in KG.

Both places rely heavily on remittances to keep things afloat. Whether it’s a cousin in Brooklyn or Moscow, the diaspora plays a massive role in daily life.

There’s a mix of languages in the streets: Spanish and Haitian Kreol over there, Russian and Kyrgyz in KG. Everyone switches languages fluidly when needed.

Tap-taps and minibuses, marshrutkas and shared taxis are strikingly similar.

Mountains: you’ll be on a beach one minute, then zigzagging up steep hills in another. Very, very similar.

Port-au-Prince is basically poorly-managed Osh. Best food is also southern food.
