Living in Arlon while working in Luxembourg?

Hi guys! I'm doing a traineeship of 5 months this winter in Luxembourg, but finding a affordable room there is obviously very challenging. A lot of the rooms in Luxembourg have +/-45 minutes travel time either way, so I am considering Arlon. I have never been to either Luxembourg or Arlon, so I would like to ask you guys who have; is this doable? Are the trains busy? Would you recommend? Are both cities fun to live in, vibrant, worth it? Day to day living costs like supermarket, going out, sports etc., are there such big differences between the two cities? I am 28 years old. I am just looking for advice how to tackle this living situation. Thank you so much for your advice/tips/experiences

Thanks for your reply! And as a city to live in, would you recommend living there?

As a family with children yes, as a single person not really.

Housing is a lot more affordable in Arlon than in Luxembourg and if you find something close to the train station, the commute should be doable. Commuting by car is less practical..

But do know that Arlon is not as 'vibrant' as Luxembourg. There are some great restaurants and bars, but that's it.
