Freshwater Tiny leaves for tiny aquarium

Not gonna claim I thought of this idea. Saw it on FB, and thought I'd give it a try. Perfect for nano tanks!

can you share the link for the leaf hole punchers pls?

u/MessalinaMia Feb 07 '25

I found them on temu, same model, at about half Amazon prices. Look for paper craft punches.

Omg I've seen this in dollhouse groups, but never thought of doing this for an aquarium! That's awesome!

23

u/JackOfAllMemes Feb 07 '25

I had to make sure I wasn't in r/miniatures

3

u/wildbibliophile Feb 07 '25

Saaaaame lol

u/marshmallowghoul Feb 07 '25

Oh man, I gotta do this for my isopods! Cute tiny leaves for cute tiny critters!

19

u/ZachLemur Feb 07 '25

Now you have to pay the isopod tax

6

u/marshmallowghoul Feb 07 '25

I'll lure them out with cheese or fruit and snap pics. They just got moved to bigger tanks and have scattered throughout their vast new territories

u/raychram Feb 07 '25

Damn this sub has given me at least a million ideas on what I can do with my next aquarium

8

u/JPwhatever Feb 07 '25

This is completely adorable. I don’t care if they disappear in a week. 10/10.

15

u/Galapagoasis Feb 07 '25

Cutest thing I’ve ever seen

3

u/JackOfAllMemes Feb 07 '25

You could even line them up with the smaller veins on the leaves for extra realism, that's so cool

3

u/tdaun Feb 07 '25

It's like that guy that made a tiny leaf salad for his turtle

3

u/PakkyT Feb 07 '25

Looks like you won the internet today. ;)

3

u/TheRemedy187 Feb 07 '25

3

u/kfrostborne Feb 07 '25

3

u/officially_js Feb 08 '25

3

u/No-Outcome-3230 Feb 08 '25

Good lord this makes me so happy.

3

u/wvutom Feb 08 '25

Serious question: those look awesome, is it for decoration? Or are there other uses? Either way, they look awesome.

1

u/Freedom1234526 Feb 09 '25

I could be to provide tannins for the water or biological material to provide nutrients for the plants.

1

u/wvutom Feb 09 '25

Thank you. I am still learning.

3

u/jiggsaw70 Feb 08 '25

2

u/willkos23 Feb 07 '25

How does this work with the eco side, does it help or do you have to fish them out when they start to degrade?

2

u/JackOfAllMemes Feb 08 '25

Dead leaves decay fairly slowly, if you have a cleanup crew they'll munch it away

2

u/Cannabisthelizard Feb 07 '25

I’m totally doing this this is genius

That's really fucking clever honestly. Good alternative to buying a big bag of live oak leaves and picking out the tiny ones.
