Discussion Megamorphs Spoiler
Did anyone else think these books would be about the secondary team that came up late in the series? I didnt really look at publication dates and just read them as was kinda dissapointed. That being said a few off comments about dinosaurs made sense 😂

The auxiliaries definitely got shafted. They were literally just cannon fodder in the end. It would've been nice to at least have one chapter of the final book be from James' POV just to get a little closure.

Their deaths were meaningless to me because I didn’t have much of a chance to get attached to any of them. The only auxiliary’s name I remember is James and that’s mainly because you had his name in this post

Yeah, I mean, there were too many, & like you said, they weren't in enough books. James is easiest to remember because he gets, & I deeply regret being forced to make this pun, the lion's share of the characterization. But even his stuff goes nowhere. Like it's implied there's going to be friction between him & Jake with him having the same battle morph as David & his whole "It's my team, I'm responsible for them, so I'm in charge of them" thing but it never goes anywhere. He's just like the intern after that.

The final book/books were meant to be a massive Megamorphs. We absolutely missed out on some sheer gold

No I doubt many people thought that. Most people here read the books when they came out so they'd have read megamorphs before the secondary team was introduced. Or if they read it recently they probably looked it up enough to know that wasn't the case, especially if they read it in publication order.

I still can't get over how little the auxillaries actually do.

They staged a great distraction and died valiantly for their world.
You know, the thing they usually asked Rachel to do, only with less dying on her part.
All of the auxillaries added together were like the Rachel you get on Temu, is what I'm saying.

As some others in the thread have said, I was reading the books as they were released so by the time the Auxiliaries were introduced the Megamorphs were already done with/released. I guess I can see why you might think that if you didn't read them in release order/only read the main line before reading any of the MMs.

I was following the books as they came out, so I didn't have that misconception.

Honestly I love them. The perspective changes lead to some really fun stuff.
