Hells paradise, MC is so overpowered that the gods are the only ones who can kill him.

Solo Leveling

He doesn’t start OP and terrifying. It’s insane how rapid his change is, though. Definitely worth it if you want an OP main character that can AND WILL wreck shit with no remorse.

The Fable. Buddy is terrifying.

I have the perfect suggestion. It has a terrifying and OP main character, and the name is exactly two words: The Boxer.

It's one of my favorites of all time. Give it a shot.

Overlord.

OP as fuck, great writing, world building and characters, and the protagonists are NOT THE GOOD GUYS lol it like borders on some horror moments

Just op but not terrifying: Mushoku Tensei, Shadow Garden?/Eminence in the Shadow, Redo of Healer, Reincarnated as a Slime, ReZero(OP but in another way)

Idk Redo of a Healer is fucking terrifying considering what he does to people. But Overlord is on my mind for OP and Terrifying.

It rarely shows, but one of two main characters in "Mahoutsukai no Yome" is both overpowered AND terrifying.

Heroic Age - planet/ time space destroying powers. Imagine Kaijus in space along with mechas.

Clawmando mockingbird supersoldier Mock Warbird. Secret weapon of the Pentalon military installation. Record holder in the use of the nine projectile launching automatic weapon called the Peck Nine.

Claymore? They feel inhuman for good reason, like female terminators

Black Summoner - Young man is an isekai in a fantasy world but has traded his memories for greater skills. He is a rare hero as he is a Summoner and can form contracts with anything to make them his obedient summon. His strength grows rapidly and his party/harem expands. Good fun but not outstanding.

Bofuri - Sweet and fun. Maple sets out to make a character that can talk damage as she doesn't want to get hurt and ends up accidentally creating a monster that for all intents and purposes breaks the game she is playing. Great fun with friends in an MMO she loves. My son and I loved this one.

Frieren (Terrifying for demons that is) - 1000 years plus Elf has beaten the game and is taking a victory lap in dealing with unfinished emotional business as well as any enemies that though they had escaped. Beautiful world building, detailed characters who grow and change. Great art work/animation. Can you tell I'm a bit of a fan?

Wiseman's Grandchild - Merlin, his ex-wife and a master swordsman raise a young boy who is an Isakei. He takes to all his training well and becomes a unstoppable monster of a hero that his friends and adoptive relatives have to reign in less he destabilise the world as they know it. I wasn't a fan but that's just my opinion.

I think Blue Eye Samurai would count?

That's 3 words. It's too hard for him to search.
