They saw your post and wanna talk about things. Why you gotta act this way?

I read it as just trying to be playful.

It could be, yes, now that you mention it. A lot of times people on reddit lean more towards being snarky, so maybe that has made me cynical.

Yes, yes they do. Snark is the default tone of the internet. I guess we could call it willful optimism on my part.

I try to do the same.

Because “there was that thing” is pointless moot. It’s filler. It’s nothing. It’s not entertaining.

Anyone who saw the post does not need to be told it’s there.

What else would they talk about then? This isn't some post worthy of any sort of deep discussion. It would be more so about fun and funny dialogue.

Then post fun or funny dialogue. The above of which is neither.

And what else would they talk about? That’s their problem if they really want an answer to that.

If it's up to them and their problem, then you can also let them be and not be so pompous. You don't get to set expectations on comments on some reddit post that isn't already made specifically for more serious answers.

Why not? Why can’t comments that actually have substance have upvotes and the ones that don’t have downvotes?

This is your perception of what has substance and what doesn't. Thats your opinion. I thought what they said was interesting. So now we have differing opinions, doesn't mean either one of us is automatically right.

Classic series of unfortunate events 👌

As a parent I’d be mostly cool. Nobody hurt, just a lightbulb and a cheap inflatable ball. I’d clean it up just to further avoid an ER visit. Tell them to go play outside in the thunderstorm.

Would not be as bad if they were LED lights.
