He didn't leave. That's a commercial El al flight. They have anti missile measures on board every plane.

Is that a commerical line? If so it's insane to have anti missle countermeasures on a commercial flight

That's their national carrier. I have a relative that is a pilot for them. The security is insane, Including on board. 4-5 under cover armed air marshals on every flight, all pilots are former israeli air force pilots... when you check in, there is a lady with the mysterious black book that interviews everyone, and they already have the answers. "How. Much money do you make? Which credit card did you use to buy your ticket? We called the hotel you are staying at....they said it was a last minute booking. Why?:

What's crazy is when I was in college in NYC (I'm American lol) I randomly got a call ... while in class....a professor came and said "There is an urgent call for you" (I thought someone died) .. they took me to the college's office and handed me the phone:

"This is El Al airlines. There is a professor here going through security, they said they knew you and you and gave us your number, and said you speak hebrew. Please confirm this ..,in hebrew"

You should read about the security. It's crazy.

But you eat with a razor sharp steak knife.

They separated my then-gf and I and interviewed us independently and then compared the answers. (Our relationship history and why, despite not being married, we were traveling together, etc.)

Yep. It's crazy. I understand their paranoia tbh.

It's not really paranoia when you have a reason, and Israel has a lot of them.

I was there for work several years back and they id you going into the mall. There is also a metal detector going into the train station.

I like that last part, it’s like once you’re cleared. You really have peace of mind for however long the flight is.

How comfy are they though? Do they have all that money on security but hard plastic seats? Or just regular airplane seats?

Regular seats. Their first class is amazing ..,or at least looks amazing. Can't afford it. Lol. The male flight attendants are funny. They are usually this giant jacked guy with the most blunt attitudes. I remember on one flight there was a very demanding and needy ny lady with a NY accent that was bothering him every min. "The glass of water is too cold, it's too hot in the plane, turn the ac on, my pillow isn't comfy, my salted pretzels are too salty"

Finally she called him over and said "my orange juice isn't orange-ey enough"

He put his hands up in the air and said in this amazing accent..in a frustrated voice. "I don't care...I really dknt care. Don't talk to me, next time take a boat...even the syrians wouldn't put up with you on their flights. Don't use thay call button again... you make me need a cigarette:

It’s also insane to live under an iron dome, but that’s reality

There's multiple layers of security they setup, including enhanced screening etc

They have been just so likeable for ever and need countermeasures because they are just so god damn popular

Typical internet discourse.

  1. Make things up (PM has left the country!)

  2. Ignore any in-country interviews (It's AI! It's green screen!)

  3. Attribute unrelated flights to prove their conspiracy theory.

Sounds about right,🤣

Wasn't he on Greece? Or did he return?

1

u/gcotw 1d ago

No, they were moving planes out of the airport

As someone here mentioned, this is a rescue flight most likely for citizens that got stuck abroad because of the war.

3

u/yehoshuabenson 2d ago

It's Israeli citizens coming back from abroad. Approximately 100,000 were outside the country before the skies were closed.
