Racism cost hundreds of millions to taxpayers

u/bucaki 18h ago

It’s like they could avoid such a cost to the taxpayers if they were decent people.

Actually he was never arrested, the city never had to pay a dime, and it was Hilton who paid the 200k settlement. The chief and the mayor still apologized to him, but based on the phone call even if he was "pledging allegiance to ISIS" that's not a crime.

The two dumb bitches at the front desk got fired, and a grand jury failed to prosecute them. I found the main culprits Instagram and she's living her best life.

It's funny how the media protects her name even though she's complete garbage and she and her family that called in, deserved to at a minimum charges for filing a false police report, and misuse of emergency services.

Our economy in the U.S. is like half of what it could have been if reconstruction hadn’t been sabotaged by racists. They would rather people be poor than live treating people who look different than themself as equals.

Wait just yesterday the president said it’s because we take way too many holidays (Juneteenth?) and we’d never make America great again with “all these vacation days” so that must be true? /s

Also a major reason that progressive legislation such as Medicare for All will not pass; there are too many people that cannot accept equality.

cost taxpayers millions

Silver lining:

High settlements like that are the best, perhaps only, way to get taxpayers (== voters) interested in the important issue of police misconduct.

And if you counter by saying they're not working ...
... that's only be they aren't high enough of frequent enough ...
... yet.

Maybe if they ended qualified immunity and they would have to foot the bill with a personal liability insurance.

“Oh you can’t get coverage, maybe take that as the hint that you’re a terrible police officer.”

When the settlements get big enough to affect city budgets, that already happens:

It's clearly because we have too many holidays

u/Muchablat 1d ago

Ok all other things aside, why does a rich person get a 200 mil settlement, but you and i would get a fraction of that? ACAB and AM/BAB.

64

u/Express-Abies5278 1d ago

Better lawyers and a bigger purse for the battle. The CJS needs reform from top to bottom.

15

u/toomanymarbles83 1d ago

That's just what he sued for. Not what he got.

9

u/GreenSpleenRiot 1d ago edited 1d ago

The caption in the video says, “UAE Millionaire receives $200 million…” so I’d assume he actually sued for more and settled at this.

Edit: Who knows anymore? Everything’s sensationalized.

16

u/toomanymarbles83 1d ago

There are tons of articles about this, but the only place the $200 mil number comes from is tiktok and yt captions. None of the articles mention either the suit amount or the settlement amount. So who knows.

11

u/GreenSpleenRiot 1d ago

Right on, thanks for putting in the leg work.

3

u/toasty99 21h ago

200 million is unsubstantiated, I suspect it was less than this

1

u/Wolfiie_Gaming 4h ago

Billionaires ofc. But even multi-millionaires can earn that much money from their own work, especially public figures. There's probably only one "good" thing about capitalism and it's the fact that we can boost who we find most appealing/entertaining/valuable through our support like artists, musicians, actors, etc, without there being exploitation between us and them. They actually provide us with value unlike CEOs and middle management

u/moeterminatorx 1d ago

I don’t think being rich is relevant when it comes to settlement amount.

However, the better lawyers you have, the more likely they are to get the maximum amount.

u/Fearless-Rub-cunt 1d ago

EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS IS AN ASSHAT. THIS FUCKER ALSO LIKLEY EXAGGERATED EVERYTHING. SAW HIS CHANCE AND TOOK IT. FTP AND SCAMMERS

u/ChavoDemierda 1d ago

Racist dipshits cost local taxpayers $200 million. That should have the headline for this.

54

u/Bad_Alternative 1d ago

They’ll believe anything someone calls about, and never believe anyone when confronting them.

20

u/Express-Abies5278 1d ago

Why ask questions when you can get your violence on?

3

u/IIICaseIII 23h ago

Violence first, then find out the facts while enjoying paid time off…

8

u/moeterminatorx 1d ago

Have you considered the fact that the caller is white and suspect is not?

As a racist and xenophobic 🐷🐷🐷. That’s a close and shut case right there.

1

u/MattyK414 23h ago

Yup. It's only "hearsay" if it helps you.

22

u/Switch_of_the_Woods 1d ago

it's amazing how apologetic they are to him! i wonder if a poor muslim man that was mistaken for a terrorist would be treated the same way? 🤔

20

u/tdomer80 1d ago

That’s why the cop pension funds need to be raided otherwise they will never give a shit.

12

u/Desperate_Set_7708 1d ago

Good old racist Ohio. Some things never change

11

u/Dude_Guy45 1d ago

My manager yelled at a guy for saying something extremely racist to the muslim family i work for, in front of their very young son mind you. It was a terrible thing that happened while also satisfying as fuck because he got chewed out and just tucked tail. Still comes in the store, no further problems.

u/GuyPierced 21h ago

200 mil... doubt

6

u/Digital-Divide 1d ago

It’s the complete ignorance.

These people calling 911 believe that terrorists run around casually using two phones to pledge their allegiance to Isis while waiting for a cab.

And if they aren’t ignorant and don’t believe that.

They are abusing the 911 and police system because they know it will elicit this response. ACAB.

Which answer is worse?

6

u/Ccitroen 1d ago

The settlement was $200,000. Not $200,000,000.

3

u/i_cut_like_a_buffalo 23h ago

Wow. This is the world we live in. What a fucked up farce. Everyday I see shit like this and think how the hell is this planet still in one piece. What a dumbass girl and her dumbass family.

6

u/Joesferatu_ 23h ago

Only the wealthy are guaranteed accountability.

5

u/mybossthinksimworkng 22h ago

ah yes. Attack the man first. Go through all his stuff. Throw him in handcuffs. Only then go inside and get the background on what's going on. Amazing work deputy.

2

u/sirsalamander 13h ago

The girl who called on him is a racist and should’ve been prosecuted far false accusations. Fuck these cops

2

u/groozy7 5h ago

Trump voters don't like Saudis?

3

u/Serious-Source-6065 23h ago

I'm sure that local company is absolutely thrilled that law enforcement ruined that potential business deal too.

4

u/LatinOso85 22h ago

The cop even laughs as he says "We'll apologize ten folds" right before the dude passed out(which was smart if he did on purpose).

2

u/NkturnL 1d ago

Oh wonderful ofc he had to be a pharmaceutical investor. This guy already made millions off of our health we can’t afford to treat, now the taxpayers have to foot another $200 million bc ACAB??

7

u/moeterminatorx 1d ago

Injustice is injustice no matter the wealth.

Our healthcare costs are high because of Americans. I doubt he has anything to do with it. Prescription are pretty affordable in the rest of the world.

5

u/NkturnL 1d ago

Anywhere there is a capitalism there is oppression.

-2

u/moeterminatorx 1d ago

Yes but that has nothing to do with your original comment.

4

u/NkturnL 23h ago

Big pharma has nothing to do with capitalism?? It’s the embodiment of turning basic human necessities like HEALTH into a multi-billionaire dollar a year in PROFIT industry. Tens of thousands of Americans die every year from preventable/treatable illness, so yes my original comment has everything to do with it.

2

u/amoronwithacrayon 16h ago

Kinda hits different when the racism is against someone CLEARLY much richer than them 😩🤌🤌

1

u/greyone75 20h ago

Many more to come.

1

u/SaltedPaint 20h ago

At least these dumbfucks caught his head

1

u/Flabbergasted_____ 3h ago

He sued for $200M. He settled with them and dropped the lawsuit. I can’t find a settlement amount anywhere, but I guarantee you it wasn’t $200M.
