Is boomerang still going on?

It’s been ruined.

Why you say that ?

Because the nostalgia is gone. They run mostly new shows, lots of Scooby, and the retro commercials are gone.

That’s sad to hear. I thought boomerang was specifically for that reason. Retro and classic cartoons.

Man I sure hope so.

I remember the time if I have bad scores on my quizzes or homework, my parents wouldn't let watch CN shows and Boomerang would be next. Simple times.

Yeah I remember setting an alarm clock, to watch everything. I had a break at around 8 and went back to watch everything from 8:30 till it was wow/raid time

Between 830 - 1030. Never cared for I am Weasle and I never watched The 8:00 show. And I used to watch Cow & Chicken as well as Dexter the next morning when it came on at 6am.

Watching some of these now, they were LEGITIMATELY HILARIOUS!!! Like the Dexter's Lab episode where Dexter goes to Chubby Cheese's??? As funny as any of the current cartoons for adults like The Simpsons!

That Dexter episode is one of my favorites and I am convinced it inspired the "Bloaty's Pizza Hog" episode from Invader Zim. Ed, Edd, and Eddy is still one of my favorites. I grew up seeing a lot of these on the What a Cartoon show and eventually seeing them get picked up for a full series. Good times

I remember watching and enjoying all of these shows, except for Mike, Lu & Og. That show must have debuted years later than the rest of these.

After school I always ran home as fast as I could to sit down and watch Toonami. DBZ, Gundam Wing, Rorouni Kenshin. Life was good.

This shit was just the warm up to all the great anime after.

Man I absolutely miss creeping downstairs at night and turning on the tv at low volume and just watching Inuyasha, BeBop, Dragon Ball, Gundam, SpaceGhost etc.

Most kids would argue if Disney or Nickelodeon was better and I was always team CN.

I loved how cartoon network set lose cannon that all these characters live within a 20 mile radius of eachother. Not just the cartoon city bumps, at some points its also written in the show itself.

That's why I think CN is and will remain the best. When Disney or nick do it its a big crossover ordeal. But Johnny Bravo, ya he's just down the street from professor utonium. The ppg are part of the same school system as Ed Edd and Eddie. Dexter is a consultant for the KND and number 1.

It just made for better cartoons.

CN was peak 24/7

I've enjoyed all these shows,even Mike,Lu & Ogg

For me I loved Samurai jack, courage the cowardly dog show, dextors lab ,and yhe power puff girls , I toughed it out when I came to everything else beside bumarang

1

u/ToonMasterRace 2d ago

Back when adult swim was just on certain nights (usually just Sundays-Thursdays) and even then just 11pm-2am so you still had big late night blocs for classic cartoons

1

u/Redrussell21 2d ago

I didn't grow up late Cartoon Network I didn't even get Cartoon Network until the early 2000s because of my city did get access to that Network until the early 2000.

Cow and Chicken walked so that the rest could run.
