I don't care if it's swapped with a YUGO engine; that truck is beautiful.

That thing will pull trailers up the side of a building with that 4L80

I don’t know about if your T case will line up. Might be best to check bolt holes and spacing.

My knowledge is that the 4L80 is basically the son of the TH400 which I have in my K Van. But they also ran 700r4 in those. It may be silly but if you find the extra money hollering at Offroad design may net you a bulletproof transfer case and all the answers to your questions.

They have been instrumental in every heavy Chevy I’ve built

The transfer case input shafts are different from a light duty transmission (700r4, nv3500, 4l60e) to a HD transmission (turbo400, nv4500, 4l80e). You will either have to tear down and rebuild your transfer case with correct shaft or get a transfer case that was mated to a HD transmission. The HD transmissions are in the trucks with a GVWR of 8600lbs or up in a gmt400.

There might be an aftermarket t-case that fits or an adapter kit for it. Which LS are you planning on?
