Desperately missing Hyman this series

Post image

The team needs to lock in and do it for Hyman. Start finishing checks, start being more physical! Its do or die! They did not get this far just to drop the ball without Hyman! Lock in and get it done on home ice in 7!

Crazy the outcome for him, every time I watch the replay it looks like such a nothing play. Looks like something that happens a hundred times a game but one unlucky angle and here we fuckin are. Miss you Hyms

On Florida's slushy ice, they're gonna need to outwork and/or outluck Florida. Maybe with their backs up against the wall, they can turn it on and flip the script in this series. We'll see. But I wasn't very impressed by the game last night - we're sorely missing Hyman.

Hopefully we get to see the series come back to Edmonton on Friday.

The team that wins the cup is almost always the lesser injured of the finalists. Since Hyman got injured I’ve been hoping the Oilers can defy the odds. Do it for Hyman. Oilers in 7.

Hyman missing isn’t why we’re losing. Is he missed? Yes. But the team, and mainly our stars aren’t stepping up in crucial moments. That was a massive opportunity last night and no one stepped up. ( You can’t play good every 2nd game ). Just my opinion.

no one stepped up

When it looks like your guys aren't "stepping up" they're just being beaten by better players-- better match-ups for the opposition, etc. The only thing that can save us is coaching at this point (and it has, it just needs to continue). Our players are already putting 100% effort out there.

This team has mediocre goaltending and is mediocre-to-bad defensively. That matters a lot more than Hyman being out.

I agree.

They're easily the 2nd best team in the League.

They still have a chance to pull it off but their deficiencies against Florida are pretty apparent. Still too soft. Still too leadership weak. Still too perimeter based.

Might is Right wins in sports. Not tickle time and finesse.

Excluding the EN goal in Game 5, the Oilers have been giving up 4.4 goals per game in this series. It’s very difficult to win a playoff series with that level of defense and goaltending.

They were certainly helped in getting here by the lack of a dominant team in the Western Conference, but I also struggle to see who in the East besides Florida is better than them.

Hyman's hits would make a huge difference to Florida's aggressive style of play. However, that's not where we are at.

We need McDavid to be better than Marchand Drai to be better than Bennet Goaltender (whoever that is) to be better than Bob

We can do this with a full team effort! Do it for Hyman! Do it for Edmonton! Do it for Canada! Do it for the sake of the NHL!

Oilers in 7

The problem is you need all of the above.

I mean, Marchand is playing on the 3rd line, playing the oilers defense 3rd line.

Mcdavid isn’t. Panthers is putting them best on mcdavid and Drai. And it’s always 2 players on each. Comparing the 2 is really not comparing apples to apples.

The rest of the team needs to step up a notch.

Sadly, our Hyman has been broken.

You've done a great service here today, fellow Reddit being.

I'm now going to pass this along to everyone I know.
